RIP Style - Minako Komukai
There’s a lovely model who rarely garners attention. Though she has beauty, and she is certainly the owner of a great figure, most people don’t know her. Recognize her in this image?

Ok - it is Minako Komukai. In this review we will have a look at her in a DVD entitled RIP Style; and yes, this is another from Line Communications I-One Series. This DVD was released in the summer of 2005. Minako has appeared in a good number of Japanese TV dramas and series as a mainstream actress, so let’s give her credits for those as well.
This DVD is not a drama - no, it is a standard Gravure idol DVD. Keep in mind that the word ’standard’ is used as an adjective to describe the genre of DVD, and is in no way a reflection of the quality.
In something of a rare event, this DVD was shot on American shores in lush and lovely Hawaii. They don’t go out of their way to let you know that it is Hawaii, but Diamond Head is a fairly easily recognized landmark.
After a bouncy and lively opening montage of two and half minutes we meet busty Minako walking alone through a jungle. You can’t miss her amidst the heavy underbrush. I mean it isn’t likely that you’re going to find another like her in this place.
Minako shows up in a pale blue bikini for the next scene which takes place on an empty beach. Blue skies and not a soul in sight.
Minako shows a skill we’ve not seen before in an idol video. Not only does she look good riding a horse, but she also shows absolutely no fear at all.
The next few scenes are pretty good but not exceptional. Minako wearing a white bikini visits a surf board shop, then we see her in skirt and blouse fooling around in a park before heading out to the marina.
Next we find Minako on the beach. We can see Diamond Head in the background as she gets ready to toss a frisbee. Watch for a couple of sharp one-handed grabs. She will follow up with some paddle ball and then a few swings with a baseball bat. Guess what? Minako hits either right-handed or left-handed.
A nice red bikini follows the sports action. First by the jungle adjoing the beach; then on the beach itself. Minako for some reason doesn’t smile much in this scene.
Maybe she was eager to fire the handgun as we see her at the shooting range in the next segment. Is it a Colt or Magnum?
There’s a late afternoon set at the beach, we’ll won’t show much more than a quick peek, and that’s before she gets to the beach. She poses by a wall.
But next comes a meal at a local bistro. Minako looks sensational in a very low-cut white top which really shows off her big boobs. It’s not as if they give you a real good look. Just the opposite is true. The director keeps trying to get us a good look down the front of her dress. And that fact, plus the fact that Minako looks so delicious in this scene makes it special.
Before long we’re back on the beach for the last two scenes. First, we see Minako in a print bikini with her hair pulled back and tied up. Then a very glamorous looking Minako in a late afternoon walk along the beach. With the use of a long zoom lens we see many closeups of a beautiful woman with the strong surf behind her.
Naturally there’s a sunset for the closing credits.
Minako visits a local zoo, a tee-shirt shop, and has a bite at a diner in the behind the scenes segment that follows. Nothing spectacular but it looks like she has fun.
And so will you when you watch the DVD. I’ll bring this one in at three point seven five. While the DVD lacks some memorable strong points which would let me put a higher rating in place, my main comment is that Minako is a beautiful woman. She really enjoys herself when they have her doing something; but her energy seems less when she’s asked to just pose. Nevertheless, I like her and she’ll back in AoV again.
